Cross Cultural Healing Collective

Starts: November 18, 2020 9:00 am | Ends: December 18, 2020 11:00 am

Welcome to the Cross Cultural Healing Collective, a new and innovative approach to conflict mediation.

The goal of this collective is to create a training, or series of trainings, of cross cultural healing for Black and Brown folx. We will complete this goal by organizing and meeting in focus groups to brainstorm ideas around collective healing, restorative justice practices, and cross cultural understanding. After brainstorming sessions we will meet around different themes to build our idea of what cross cultural healing can look like.

Application deadline extended! Now due by November 16.

During the focus groups and collective meeting, you will gain an understanding of:

  • How to build capacity for Black & Brown folks, and bring more Black & Brown RJ practitioners to RJ spaces.
  • How to develop confidence and knowledge on what RJ practice is, what equity is, and navigating systems of oppression.
  • How being restorative by nature can be a form of healing; moving away from fear based mindsets and fear based living by showing up authentically for ourselves.
  • How to creating healing spaces for Black & Brown folks by Black & Brown folks not focusing on the narrative of whiteness.
  • How to create and build a curriculum of healing that is centered around, and serving Black & Brown folks.

If dismantling the systems of oppression is our goal, we must first crumble the world that we know.
