Navigating White supremacy culture (BIPOC): A Workshop for Leaders (Sept 2021)

Starts: September 30, 2021 1:30 pm | Ends: September 30, 2021 4:30 pm

This session is for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color). White participants, for a session on September 24, click here.

Are you forced to make tough decisions right now? Are you afraid of falling into the same old patterns of inequity?

The COVID virus acts as an amplifier of every injustice that is built into our systems. As leaders, times of crisis like these offer the temptation to default to the way things have always been done – and the opportunity to transform your outcomes now and into the future.

Come together with other decision-makers to:

  • Share how it feels to be leading in this impossible moment
  • Reflect on who is being most impacted
  • Notice how white supremacy is showing up in your workplace – or inside you – and discover ways you can shift

This workshop is designed for board members, executives, and others who are making decisions for your organizations. Don’t expect a packaged training or a businesslike strategy session. Instead, this will be a facilitated conversation in small groups for folks who have a good grasp of white supremacy and have begun to implement racial equity in their organizations. You will leave with something you can apply to your work…and it might not be what you expected!

“It felt really honest and without pretenses.”
“[Most significant for me were] the breakout rooms, being in community with POC’s.”
“The space for reflection allowed me space to identify and acknowledge the ways that white supremacy culture is showing up in some of our covid decision making.”
