Breaking through barriers: A follow-up workshop

Starts: 2021-04-29 13:30:00 | Ends: 2021-04-29 16:30:00

This workshop is open to anyone who has attended at least one of the following workshops with RNW:

  • White supremacy culture for leaders (white or BIPOC sessions)
  • Artful facilitation grounded in racial equity
  • Institutional equity (or any RNW workshop that included the sun framework)

We invite you to bring whatever challenges and barriers have come up for you. What are you facing as you try to lead from where you are to advance racial justice? What are the barriers you expected, or the issues you didn’t think were going to be a problem that suddenly stalled the work? Where are you feeling pushback, and how are you responding?

In this workshop, we will celebrate successes (look hard enough, we’re sure there have been some!), share empathy on the challenges, and build strategies to break through barriers.

Depending on participants and topics, this 3-hour workshop may include:

  • Large- and small-group discussion
  • Coaching from our team
  • Peer consultation to draw on the wisdom of the room
  • Affinity & learning space breakouts

Pre-session review

Prior to the session, we ask you to review a couple of the common frameworks. Don’t worry if you don’t remember everything about them. Here are links to the sun framework, the protractor of racial justice, and the article about white supremacy culture.

This is a remote training via Zoom. You can see some introductory videos on working with Zoom here.
